ORIGIN STORY

So, there was this time in my life when things weren’t just bad, they were really bad. I’m talking breakups, anxiety, health issues, a financial disaster that could’ve been a reality TV show... Basically, I was living in rock bottom’s basement. Heck, I might’ve even slipped through the floorboards and found a secret underground cave of despair. It was messy. So messy.

Then came Buddy.

He showed up in a shelter listing as “too friendly, needs a home,” And I thought, “Yeah, that sounds like me! Too friendly and definitely need a home!” So I adopted him.

Turns out, they weren’t just being optimistic with that "too friendly" label, they were being downright fraudulent. I'd been catfished. OR should that be dogfished? That’s when my real journey started. Not the calm, healing kind you see on tiktok, but the chaotic, loud, “did I just adopt a wolf?” kind. Buddy was wild.

But here’s the thing: in trying to tame this chaos goblin, something shifted. I stopped focusing on my own pain and started showing up… for him, and eventually, for myself. Buddy dragged me (sometimes literally) back into the world, and I slowly rebuilt my life with muddy paw prints and midnight howls as the soundtrack.

That’s why I started illustrating pets.

Because let’s be real…animals aren’t just pets. They’re weird, hilarious, stubborn, dramatic, and 100% part of the family. They flip our lives upside down in the best way possible. I want to capture that wild, unpredictable spirit, the kind that makes us laugh out loud, shake our heads, and feel completely alive. It’s that messy, wonderful energy that pulled me back from the edge, and it’s what pets bring us every day, no matter what’s going on. My goal is to share that spark through playful, heartfelt doodles celebrating every lopsided grin, flopped ear, and dramatic side eye.

Buddy’s still my co-pilot, creative director, and yes a bit unhinged, but together we’re on a mission to immortalise these pet shaped heroes, one doodle at a time!
